Overview
The theme of the 2025 summer course is "Documentary Photography Project: Heritage Charm from the Multicultural Lens," which is aimed at those interested in exploring Indonesian culture, especially the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java, through a more free and creative space. This course combines the medium of photography and storytelling as a documentary photography project to represent and retell the charm of Indonesia's cultural heritage through the lens of diversity.

Documentary photography is "Sharp-focus photography that captures a moment of reality to convey a meaningful message about what is happening in the world." Another definition states that "documentary photography has come to represent the social conscience of liberal sensibility presented in visual imagery." Thus, through this project, the sensitivity of participants and the strength of ideas become an essential part of showing the narrative that will be present through photos.
