Welcome to "Islamic Political Thought" Course
The Islamic Political Thought Course is a expertise course (MKK) which is a compulsory local content course for International Relations (HI) students of FISIPOL UMY. What is discussed in this course is an introduction that introduces basic concepts in Islamic politics, with an emphasis on a normative review for Islamic political scholars. This course is expected to be an alternative for political thought that will be developed in the discipline of International Relations.
The UMY Internasional Relations Study Program aspires to realize a superior and Islamic vision. The excellence of teaching in the UMY International Relations Study Program is reflected in the integration of Islamic values and perspectives in the curriculum, both in the form of integrating the contents of the Al-Qur'an into all courses in the UMY International Relations Study Program, as well as specifically offering Al Islam courses. The Islamic Political Thought Court is a series of the Islamization of Political Science and HI, where Al Islam 1 is the Al Islam Course, Al Islam 2 is the Kemuhammadiyahan Court, Al Islam 3 is the Islamic Political Thought Court, Al Islam 4 is the Islamic World Issue Court, Al Islam 5 is the Constitutional Court of International Relations in an Islamic Perspective, and Al Islam 6 is the Constitutional Court according to the selected competence (Islamic Diplomacy, Islamic Political Economy and International Islamic Movement).
Course Outcome
Students are able to explain the characteristics of Islamic political thought and compare it with secular political thought that is operational in the contemporary international system, and are able to apply logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking in the context of developing or implementing science, and technology that pays attention to or applies human values in accordance with their field of expertise.
